We are excited to welcome Joshua Lax for an exclusive 2-Day In-Store Event on Friday, June 5th, and Saturday, June 6th, from 10:30 AM to 5 PM. As the founder of J.J. Lax Pen Company, Joshua is renowned for his expertise in reviving fountain pens and performing nib tuning and adjustments.

Joshua established the J.J. Lax Pen Company with a clear mission: to offer members of the fountain pen, stationery, and journaling communities the best possible writing experience and a means of self-expression through their fountain pens. He honed his craft under nibmeister Richard Binder, mastering nib customization and repair. Notably, Joshua is the winner of the only fountain pen nib competition, NIB WARS.

Beyond working with customers, brands, and retailers, Joshua is a dedicated educator who frequently appears in videos and podcasts to discuss the art and science of nibs. He also leads workshops on nib smoothing and adjustment.

In 2025, Joshua launched his YouTube channel, Uncapped, where he shares his passion for writing instruments and stationery, as well as his love of vintage fountain pens. In addition to his pen expertise, Joshua is also a practicing attorney.

Click the "Next" button to go to the page where you will make the appointment. On the calendar, select the date you plan to attend, either June 5th or June 6th. The page will then display the available appointments. Please make your selection and enter your information. Once that information is submitted, your appointment should be made. Disregard any information about location. If you make an appointment on June 5, 2026, and June 6, 2026, that appointment will be at Bertram's Inkwell.
